August 8, 2008, on a fine morning: The balloon was hovering very close to stakes. By the time I jumped out of my truck to take the photo, the balloon popped back up. I yelled out to see if they needed help. The pilot yelled back, "No thanks. All is okay."

But I have learned, the pilots need to appear cool-headed and in control of the situation.
They are the last ones to admit that help is needed. So, be alert and prepared to help
if matters get worse.
